Sigma Europe 2023 – how was it? Interviews with business development managers Betatransfer Kassa
All this week the iGaming world has been buzzing – Sigma Europe in Malta. The whole island was buzzing, and cab drivers were probably in shock. Sigma is one of the most global events in the industry. This year it was cooler, bigger, brighter. More than 30 thousand participants, hundreds of exhibitors. And, of course, Betatransfer Kassa could not miss it. We were in the exhibition area with our stand.
Many of you had time to meet our business development managers Alex Volk and Oleg Khom. The guys were very tired after these busy days, but we couldn’t help but ask them how it was.
– Tell us, what was it like?

Very intense. Dozens of meetings, introductions and negotiations, my calendar was full even before I arrived in Malta. So I heard that there was fun, but I missed most of it because I was working.

Yes, we missed a lot, but it was absolutely very productive. New clients, new partnerships, we are taking away new contacts, which means that the Betatransfer Kassa product will develop even faster.
– What were clients most interested in and what new things did they bring with them to Malta?

We announced a lot of new geo and to be honest, we broke not only new clients with this, but also those we have been working with for many years. India, Latin American countries, Japan. Previously, iGaming companies could not reach these markets precisely because of the inability to accept payments. But we already have ready-made solutions with which we can start. A lot of people were interested in our new geo.

And of course, studying the offer of our colleagues on the market we once again made sure of how strong product we have developed for geo former CIS countries: Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan. We have no equal here. We can offer solutions based on P2P-payments, which can accept more than 100 million payments and show an average conversion rate of 10-20% higher than traditional acquiring can provide. At the same time, we can offer acquiring solutions as well. It all depends on the specific task of the client. We can customize solutions to suit a merchant’s specific request.
– What was the atmosphere like at Sigma Europe? Was it competitive or a celebration?

It’s work (laughs). But to answer the question, it’s more of a celebration. Top music bands, MMA fights, sports competitions, sword swallowers, dancers, parties overlooking the city, networking meetings and dinners. It was one endless iGaming party in dozens of locations.
– What topics were discussed at the panel discussions?

The topics are absolutely different. From GambleFi to TradFi, from Web3 marketing to AML. The changing regulatory landscape in Europe, including the new AI law and other progressive bills, as well as the outlook for ChatGPT and generative AI models were raised.
